“First – and most importantly – we are thankful that Miles, his passenger and no one else were injured in yesterday’s single car accident. After a medical examination today, the doctors on our team at University Hospitals concluded that Miles suffered a dislocated shoulder, a strained bicep, minor lacerations, and some bumps and bruises on other parts of his body. Miles did not sustain any fractures and was also issued a concussion report. We are currently focused on providing Miles with the necessary medical care to return to football activities. While we hope to have him back soon, his availability for Sunday’s game in Atlanta will be evaluated by team doctors throughout the week.”
Garrett was driving a gray 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S in the crash on the state road just south of state Route 18 in Sharon Township on Monday afternoon. Garrett, 26, was on the right side of the road when he lost control and his car overturned.
His female passenger also suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said alcohol or drugs are not suspected as factors in the single-vehicle crash.
Garrett was discharged from Akron Cleveland Clinic General Medical Center Monday evening. His passenger was taken to a separate area hospital.
Body camera footage from the Medina County Sheriff’s Office shows Garrett and a woman lying on the ground after the Porsche driven by Garrett slid off a state road south of State Route 18 in Sharon Township. Garrett sat on the grass and talked as firefighters checked his biceps and other areas for injuries, then crews helped him to his feet and carried him to an ambulance as blood poured from his right arm.
The unidentified female passenger, whose face was blurred in the video, was seen lying down as paramedics tended to her.
