TOLEDO, Ohio – JobsOhio, a public nonprofit organization, announced on Thursday a $2.9 million pilot project to fill jobs in northwest Ohio.

The project is a partnership with the Ohio Association of Manufacturers and the Regional Growth Partnership and aims to connect manufacturing job seekers with regional companies looking to hire through a “full-time hiring partner” and marketing campaign in 17 districts.

JP Nauseef, president and CEO of JobsOhio, said the project is poised to meet demand for more than 14,000 jobs in the region.

“Improving access to Northwest Ohio’s best and brightest sends a strong signal to companies in Ohio and around the world that our state is an ideal place to create and succeed,” said Lt. Gov. John Husted in a press release. JobsOhio release.

The hiring partner “will assist job seekers on behalf of employers and educational institutions by matching them with local industry employment opportunities, training opportunities at six regional educational institutions, and/or additional support services found in the state’s workforce development system Ohio,” the post said. press release.

OMA President Ryan Augsburger said the recruiting partner “does not work for a specific training provider or employer” and can work for the benefit of job seekers and industry in Northwest Ohio.

JobsOhio said manufacturing is the largest sector of Ohio’s economy and provides nearly 700,000 jobs.
